WELCOME TO KATKA MTN PEACE GARDENS

You are invited to enjoy a living collage. Katka Mtn Peace Gardens is a rockery flower garden, wild flower meadow, and young conifer forest growing in a peaceful spot on the sunny slopes of Katka Mtn. They are framed by forest and ringed by the Purcell, Cabinet, and Selkirk Mtn Ranges.

These pictures of the rockery flower garden show the evolving mosaic of flower beds that are bordered by red shale and glacier rolled granite and quartz. Perennial herbs and flowers complement the stones. River driftwood reaches toward the forest framing the stone bordered beds. The southern Purcell mountains rise east and south of the flower gardens. The Selkirk mountains stretch north to south west of the peace gardens.

The peace gardens are lovely all year and visitors are Welcome in every season.

Families with children will enjoy picking wild flowers in the mountain meadow and understory of the young conifer forest.

Couples who want to exchange their marriage vows in the mountains are invited to the peace gardens.

Families are welcome to hold Memorial Services at Katka Peace

Gardens.

Artists will see beautiful pictures everywhere they look.

Night sky watchers will enjoy viewing the planets, stars, and galaxies bright and clear above a dark landscape.

Katka Mtn Peace Gardens is 7 miles east of Bonners Ferry, Idaho which is is 75 miles north of Courd'Alene, 30 miles north of Sandpoint, and 30 miles south of the Canadian Border.

Please visit the peace gardens and enjoy the Katka Mtn Scenic Drive which is a 21 mile tour of the river, valley, and mountain ranges east of Bonners Ferry. It features Katka Mtn Overlook with its panoramic view of the Kootenai River, Paradise and Pleasant Valleys, and the Purcell, Cabinet, and Selkirk Mtn Ranges.

Enjoy the scenic drive then visit the peace gardens where mountain quiet fills a rockery flower garden, wildflower meadow, and young conifer forest.
